Carmelo T. Casas

Carmelo T. Casas is the founder and chairman of Casas+ Architects, a Makati-based firm he built from the practice he co-founded in Hong Kong in 1988 before returning to the Philippines. A University of Santo Tomas graduate and Registered ASEAN Architect, he was named Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Professional Regulation Commission in 2015.

Casas brought nearly two decades of Hong Kong high-rise and hospitality experience to a portfolio of Philippine landmarks. He was chief architect of the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion, the multi-purpose arena built for the university's 400th anniversary, and his firm served as co-architect of the Metrobank Center in Bonifacio Global City, at 318 metres the tallest building in the Philippines. The firm's FEU Alabang Chapel earned a five-star Asia Pacific Property Award for public service architecture.

Casas+ Architects has been named a BCI Asia Top 10 architectural firm of the Philippines across multiple years, and Casas is recognized as one of the country's leading designers of high-rise and institutional architecture.
