Ed Calma

Eduardo "Ed" Calma is a Filipino architect and the design principal and managing partner of Lor Calma & Partners, the firm founded by his father, the pioneering designer Lor Calma. He took over the practice in 1995 and grew it into a full-service architectural studio.

Calma trained in New York, graduating from the Pratt Institute in 1988 and earning a master's in advanced architectural design from Columbia University in 1994. He practiced in New York for roughly twelve years before returning to the Philippines, and his work is recognized for a distinctly modern, minimalist language of clean lines, glass and geometric restraint.

His best known building is The Mind Museum in Bonifacio Global City, opened in 2012, whose form is inspired by cellular structure and growth. He also designed the School of Design and Arts building for De La Salle-College of St. Benilde in Manila and the Kuysen Experience Center in Makati. His honors include the JCI TOYM award in architecture in 2002 and inclusion in Tatler's Asia's Most Influential list.
